A New Community Vision for Malta

At the soon-to-be-launched Honey Badger Youth & Club No Guilt Café, we are on a mission to bring fresh opportunities, safe spaces, and exciting programs to the youth of Malta — while revitalizing Bugibba’s community spirit. Our dream is to create a vibrant hub where young people can learn, grow, and connect. But to make this vision a reality, we need your help.

One of the first steps in making our project official is registering as a Volunteer Organization (VO) in Malta. The challenge? We still need a volunteer treasurer to join our team. If you are someone with basic bookkeeping skills — or you know someone who is — you could be the missing piece that helps us turn this idea into a registered, fully recognized charity.

A Fun, Impactful Way to Raise Funds: A Charity Telethon

Once we have your help as a volunteer Treasurer we believe in doing things with energy and creativity — and that includes fundraising. That’s why we are planning a Charity Telethon to kick-start the funding for the Honey Badger Youth Club and No Guilt Café.

A telethon (a blend of “television” and “marathon”) is a live broadcast fundraising event that runs for several hours, sometimes even days. It is designed to inspire generosity from the public by showcasing entertainment, inspiring stories, and interviews — all while giving people a direct way to donate and be part of something bigger.

Here’s what you can expect from ours:

• Live Entertainment: Music, comedy, arts, and podcast-style interviews.

• Community Hosts & Presenters: Local personalities and volunteers taking calls and cheering on donations.

• A Fundraising Target: A clear, transparent goal so every euro donated brings us closer to opening our doors.

Telethons have a proven record of success worldwide, including right here in Malta:

• Channel 7 Perth Telethon (Australia): One of the most famous telethons, it raises millions annually to support sick, vulnerable, and disadvantaged children in Western Australia.

• Hospice Malta Telethon: Held in July 2025 under the theme “Ħajja sal-Aħħar” (Life Until the End), this telethon raised vital funds for terminally ill patients and their families.

• Oħloq Tbissima Telethon (Malta): This inspiring three-day broadcast marathon has supported global missionary work for over two decades.

• ALS Malta Telethon: ALS Malta uses its telethon to sustain the Dar Bjorn Respite facility and fund new projects for people with neurological conditions.
